Last week, GoodGrandma℠ and Jane, attended a family reunion. Grandpa Bob and Grandma Connie hosted a family reunion with their posterity. They planned and carried out a three day, three night, family get away to the mountains. We had 37 family members, out of the 45, in attendance. I would say that’s pretty good!

Grandma Connie gave each of the daughters a meal assignment and teamed us up with another daughter to prepare a meal for the entire group. Joy and I made hamburgers and hotdogs, potato salad, watermelon, corn on the cob, and floats with Joy’s homemade snickerdoodles for dessert. It was delicious! Except, we did forget about the watermelon, but ate it for lunch the next day. Let’s just say we had plenty of food. We all came very prepared. On Saturday morning, Grandpa Bob spoiled us with his amazing apple pancakes for breakfast. It was a yummy breakfast. I ate several and remembered having that exact breakfast on many a Saturday morning in my childhood.

Grandma Connie came through, yet again, with awesome family reunion t-shirt. She told me she currently uses a company named ClassB. She said the company is great to work with and they have good quality shirts. The shirt went right along with the theme with a print of mountains. The matching family reunion t’shirts were a hit!

My parents have had many reunions over the years, but as time has gone by, they haven’t happened quite as often. The last reunion was held two years ago. As mentioned, in an earlier post, sometimes traditions change. Whether it’s out of  necessity or by choice, old traditions can morph into new traditions. It’s good to be flexible and roll with the changes.

Granny and Pops had the chance to have four of their five great grandchildren together. They were able to meet sweet Sophia for the very first time. She’s a doll, and we loved meeting little princess.

Thank you, Mom and Dad, for the fun and memorable family reunion. We love you!
