GoodGrandma℠ would like to know, what do you give your grandchildren for Christmas? We have heard of lots of different IDEAS and traditions from over the years. One of our favorites is utilizing the following phrase when shopping: “Something you want, something you need, something to wear, and something to read!” It makes it simple and assures the child will get at least one gift they WANT. We remember our grandparents always giving us a pack of gum with cash tied to it. Grandma Connie makes personalized gifts for her grandkids, such as Personalized Bags and Pillowcases. She has also given practical gifts. For example, stationary and socks.

We have given the grandkids matching pjs, family reunion trips, and money. Which they can choose how to spend the money. When we give them money, we encourage them to get something they need or want, but also save some too. This year we are putting a fun sticker pad by Melissa & Doug with each of their cash gifts. Hopefully the sticker pads will be something they enjoy, and will keep them busy for a bit. When we purchased the sticker pads back in June, we found an awesome deal; buy two, get one free!

Grandparents, tell us, what are some of the gifts you have given the grandchildren over the years? Inquiring minds want to know. Email us at colleen@goodgrandma.com or jane@goodgrandma.com
