A fun activity to do with the grandkids this month is making art with their cute little hands and feet!  We have made some different ones for holidays and other occasions in the past, but with Mother’s Day coming up, on May 13th, we thought it would be fun to give some ideas for you and the grandkids to make for their mothers. We have several hand and footprint ideas you can try or if you happen to use Pinterest you can find several ideas of hand and foot art on their site. We have also included few links below from Crafty Morning, Free Kids Crafts, and Play Ideas for you to reference.

As a kindergarten teacher, my classroom was strawberry themed; “A BERRY special Kinder-garden.” We made strawberries with their one hand and read the story, The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and The Big Hungry Bear, by Don and Audrey Wood. At Christmas time we made MistleTOES from each students footprint. The comment most every child made was that it tickled. We even made the footprint of our principal and custodian. It was a fun activity for everyone!
