Whitney’s first birthday was fast approaching and GoodGrandma℠ wasn’t going to be able to be with her on her actual day. So, Aunt Lauren and I took a trip to to her home to have an early birthday celebration with her family. I am always up for a party, especially a themed one!

Cookie Monster is Whitney’s favorite Seaseme Street character, a perfect theme for the party. Whitney’s mom made some adorable Cookie Monster cupcakes, I found some Cookie Monster Balloons and paper goods, a Cookie Monster t-shirt for the birthday girl, as well as a Smart Counting Cookie activity. In addition to the cupcakes and activity we were also able to have a family dinner together. Whitney’s favorite dinner is Spaghettios, but since I didn’t want to eat that for dinner, or anyone else for that matter, we had a spaghetti dinner instead.

It was a simple gathering, low stress, and easy on everyone. The highlights of the party were the blue frosting all over the babies faces, a tubby with cousins, and wearing Christmas themed jammies to open the birthday presents. The next morning I took a few pictures of the sisters in their matching pajamas before Lauren and I got in the car to head home.

It was totally worth the quick trip to go celebrate Whitney with her family. I loved every minute I was with this sweet little girl. Happy first birthday, Whitney! Grandma loves you!
