National Do Something Good for Your Neighbor Day

GoodGrandma℠ has been fortunate to have some pretty awesome neighbors over the years! Some of which were better than State Farm and Mister Rogers combined! Reason to Celebrate today, it’s National Do Something Good for Your Neighbor Day, not to be confused with National Good Neighbor Day on September 28th. Today, we encourage everyone to serve your neighbors. If you don’t know them, take some chocolate chip cookies from yesterday’s National Chocolate Chip Day and introduce yourself.

State Farm

Years ago our neighbors were performers in the Las Vegas show, Le Rêve. We would take them cookies or other baked goodies and they would ALWAYS be working out! Doubt they ever ate the yummy treats, but it was the thought that counts, right?
Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood

Another dear neighbor, who was always so gracious to us, had the last name was Wilson. We found it quite humorous, because of the movie Dennis the Menace. The saying, “Hey, Mr. Wilson” always made us laugh. Perhaps the grandkids need to watch the TV show from the 60’s or the movie from the 90’s, you pick!

Good neighbors are the best! We are grateful for those times they have offered meals, brought over a needed 9 volt battery, leant a can of enchillada sauce, gathered the newspapers, mail, and packages while out of town, brought in empty trash cans, sat with a sleeping baby while running to pick up older kids. The list goes on and on.

Thank you, Neighbors, for doing something good for your neighbor. We appreciate you!
