There are many opportunitiesĀ is in the month of May for gift giving: Mothers Day, Graduation, spring weddings, Jane’s 40th Birthday šŸ™ šŸ™ If we are sending money instead of a gift, some may wonder how much to send? Here are someĀ important points to consider:

  • Be consistent with your gift amount and don’t overextend yourself.
  • Be fair to all grandkids. They should all get the same amount as other grandchildren for birthdays, holidays, graduations, and weddings, etc.
  • Discuss which holidays you’re going to send gifts and what you will be giving. For instance, for ourĀ grandkids, Papa Rich and I decided to give gifts for birthdays, Valentines Day, Easter, Halloween,Ā andĀ Christmas. For our children with children, we give Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gifts and for ourĀ married children, we give anniversary gifts.Ā  We have made a spreadsheet to keep track so that we give the same to everyone. We are OCD like that! Or as I like to say, it’s CDO, becauseĀ then it is alphabetized!
