GoodGrandma℠ made some fun Halloween treats with the grandkids this year. We made Rice Krispie treat monsters and white chocolate covered pretzel mummies. Now, you could always make the Rice Krispie treats from scratch or you can do what we did (save time and energy) and buy the pre-made Rice Krispie treats. Next, we melted some colorful Wilton Candy Melts in the microwave. Be careful to watch the time and power level on the microwave so you don’t burn the chocolate. Once we had the chocolates melted, we covered half of each Rice Krispie with colored chocolate and added some fun candy eyes.

We ran out of the candy eyeballs, so we used red hots as eyeballs for the remaining monsters. Raegan loved putting the eyes on the treats! This was a fun treat to make, but they were overly sweet. Next year, we will find some spooky healthy treats to make?

As for the Pretzel Mummies, we laid out wax paper on the counter. We used square pretzels and drizzled white chocolate over the pretzels to create the mummy look. Lastly, we added the eyeballs! One suggestion: Try to keep the white chocolate lines going the same direction as the lines in the pretzel, keeping lines vertical and horizontal, not diagonal. These were quick and easy and a favorite treat for everyone to eat. Yum!
