Technically, autumn begins on September 22. Many people consider Labor Day to be the end of summer and beginning of fall. I think of autumn as September, October, and November. And autumn is my favorite seasonβby far. By fall, Iβm tired of the scorching heat and ready to enjoy the temperate weather and, later in fall, light jacket weather. Where I live, there are lots of deciduous trees with leaves that change colors and eventually fall to the ground. Beautiful! I love the way the world looks with the angle of the sun in autumnβthe blue skies with the low, slanting, golden light. There are lots of fun things to do in autumn with the grandkids.

- Take a walk together in the nice weather
- Go fruit (e.g., apple) picking
- Enjoy the leavesβmake a pile and jump in, but, “never jump into a pile of leaves with a wet sucker.” – It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
- Go to a pumpkin patch
- Try to find your way through a corn maze
- Attend a fall festival
- Make a fall craft

Make a memory with the grandkids and enjoy the very best season of the year! π
