GoodGrandma℠ would like to introduce Grandma Lori. Lori is mother to six children and step-mom to three. She is grandma to five adorable grandchildren, ranging in age from three months to 4-years-old. When Lori became a grandma she was thrilled for her daughter, but not sure how she felt about being old! 😂 We get it, Lori. But, mostly she was really excited!!!

Most Fridays Grandma Lori spends her day with her only grandson, Rhett. They’ve had weekly Friday playdates for the past two and a half years. They spend the day going on walks together and playing at the park. Rhett loves to throw rocks in the water! Grandma Lori’s oldest granddaughters live too far away to have weekly playdates, but the newest granddaughter, Zaydrie, lives close by, and Grandma Lori hopes to start having weekly playdates with Zaydrie as well. As for the three cuties that live far away, Grandma Lori says they FaceTime quite often and try to visit for special occasions. When her granddaughters come into town, she tries to have a few sleepovers, as well as a couple of fun outings together.

As for holiday traditions, Grandma Lori purchases each of her grandchildren an Easter outfit, as well as a couple of things for their Easter basket. They also participate in an annual neighborhood Easter Egg hunt. For Christmas, they pick an activity everyone can participate in together and make a memory. I love this IDEA! They also have a tradition of making gingerbread houses together. As the grandchildren get older, Grandma Lori is certain they will have more Reasons to Celebrate and holiday traditions. For birthdays, Grandma Lori and Grandpa Todd usually get them a fun and educational toy, along with a new outfit. If their parents are throwing a party to celebrate, Grandma Lori and Grandpa Todd always try to attend.

Grandma Lori has several books she enjoys reading with her grandkids. How to Babysit a Grandma, Pop-up Peekaboo Under the Sea, Goodnight Moon, and Never Feed a Yeti Spaghetti are a few of their favorites. They also enjoy playing Ring Around the Rosy. Classic! When asked about discipline and her role as grandma, Lori simply replied, “I’m more the spoiling type Grandma; discipline can be done by the parents.”

Grandma Lori would like her grandchildren to remember her by the special events and activities they did together and, of course how much she loves them! Grandma Lori said, “I think being a GoodGrandma is all about unconditional love. It’s important to just take time to be with them and listen to them. I want them to always know that I am a safe place for them.”
