Raegan helped me make the brownies. She was busy playing when it was time to spread the peanut butter topping, but I did take a picture of the peanut butter with her cute little knife. (Side note: earlier Raegan helped me cut strawberries with her knife, which sits in the knife holder with all the other knives. As we cut strawberries, we discussed all of our favorite things. Her knife didn’t cut very well—surprise! I encouraged her to take the green leaves off and just bite it in half. She ate the one half and I ate the other. I loved the time with my sweet little granddaughter).
We did finally finish the Buckeye Brownies and had them for dessert after dinner and before I left to head home.
Baking with Raegan was a treat in and of itself, but making my son-in-law happy with one of his favorite goodies was clearly a way to win him over. You know the quickest way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, right?
