Creating Family Photo Albums

GoodGrandma℠ likes to have an annual photo album of the family. Perhaps you have found that there is too much going on at the end of December and first part of January to get an album done. Well, I started making my yearly photo album in August in 2012, when the kids went back to school. Since then I have continued with the August to August albums and I just recently created the sixth family album using an online photo album service.

The first few years I used a company called Keepsy, but couldn’t find them last year. So, I tried Past Book and loved how the book turned out. However, this year I used Past Book again and struggled to get the front cover picture to work. The company continued to contact me saying the pictures was blurry and asked several times if I was ready to order. I finally got the book ordered and it turned out great, but it did get a little frustrating through the ordering process. I’m not sure if I will use them again next year.

Just earlier this month Papa Rich and I were given a surprise photo book by the kids. It was a book with our family vacation last June. It was complete with write ups of the daily themes and activities, and pictures galore of the entire week, some of the pictures I had never even seen! It was a perfect surprise!!! Bless Hillary’s heart, she put the whole thing together! She used the company Shutterfly. I may need to give their company a try next August.

No matter how you create a photo album, it’s a great way to capture the moments not to be forgotten and record in history your adventures. Online companies that provide the services make it an easy and fun way to scrapbook. My favorite part is looking through the pictures with grandkids and reliving the events.

How do you scrapbook? How do you store your photos? If you use an online company, who do you recommend? Please let us know ~ Email us at colleen@goodgrandma.com or jane@goodgrandma.com
