GoodGrandma℠ loves Christmas ornaments, they are so fun to collect. Papa Rich and I have a tradition of buying an ornament from the places we travel. We have an ornament from Alaska from a trip a couple of years ago. This year we are adding a Mickey and Minnie Mouse from our trip in June, one from Nova Scotia, and a light house form Maine. The light house has a switch to make the light house actually light up! Jane’s family has a number of ornaments from Disneyland, creating their own Disney ornament filled tree. I’m sure that’s a favorite themed tree in many households.

Through the years, Grandma Connie has given her grandchildren various ornaments. I put the child’s name on the back, if it wasn’t already personalized, and once they are celebrating Christmas in their own homes with their own trees, I give them all of the ornaments from their grandma, and voila, a decorated tree.

I started a new tradition when my children married and started their own families. I would give them a couples first Christmas ornament. Later, personalized family ornaments. As well as, new babies 1st Christmas ornaments. When Papa Rich asked me to marry him on December 14th, I started yet another ornament tradition. Since 2013, I have given Rich’s six children an angel ornament. This is an ornament in memory of their late mother, Janet. It has been rewarding to find just the right angel to give each of Janet’s children.
