A fun and new tradition we started just last year at GoodGrandma℠ is the Saran Wrap Ball Game! Grandma Colleen has been collecting Christmas items, little erasers, card games, DVD’s, gift cards, and magnets. Really anything she could find to wrap up! It doesn’t have to be expensive items, just fun random things to unwrap and win!

HOW TO MAKE THE BALL: We laid out all of the items and then started to wrap and wrap and wrap and wrap some more! Until we had wrapped all of the goodies inside the large Saran Wrap Ball. Oh, and every so often we would throw in a piece of packing tape, just to make the game a little more interesting.

HOW TO PLAY THE GAME: Everyone sits in a circle, we mean EVERYONE, this is a game for both young and old. The Saran Wrap Ball starts with the person who’s birthday is next, just kidding you can start with whomever you want. The person to the right of the ball has dice and a small pan to roll the dice into. The person with the Saran Wrap Ball begins to unwrap the ball to find the hidden treasures. By the way, you get to keep whatever you unwrap! While the person is unwrapping, the person to the right is rolling the dice as fast as they can. As soon as the person with the dice rolls doubles they get the ball and the dice move to the person to their right. The ball and dice continue to move around the circle, until all of the gifts have been unwrapped and claimed.

It’s a fun and entertaining game, which can also get a little competitive! We hope you will give it a try! As Papa Rich and Grandma Colleen always say, give it a try “For the kids!”
